The efficiency of SMA’s new single-phase hybrid inverters is up to 97.5%, and the European ones are 96.8%. They are available in four versions, with outputs ranging from 3.6 kW to 6 kW.
There are four versions of Sunny Boy Smart Energy, with powers ranging from 3.6 kW to 6 kW. The dimensions of the inverters are 500 mm x 586 mm x 236 mm and the weight is 17.5 kg.
Transformerless inverters have three maximum power point tracking points (MPPT) with efficiency up to 97.5% and European efficiency up to 96.8%. The MPPT voltage range is 60 V to 480 V, and the maximum PV power is 7.2 kW for 3.6 kW inverters and 12 kW for 6 kW devices. The maximum input voltage is 600 V.
“Sunny Boy Smart Energy shines with its fast battery charging capabilities,” SMA said. “Traditional charging power is challenged in northern climates by a few hours of sunshine and abundant cloud cover. Sunny Boy Smart Energy’s fast charging enables more solar energy to be collected and stored in these few hours, ready to supply homes and lower energy costs for home owners.
The inverters are IP65 protected and operate in a temperature range of -25 C to 60 C. They are supplied with lithium-ion batteries ranging from 90 V to 500 V and support a maximum charge/discharge current of 30 A.
The new hybrid inverters will be available in the last quarter of 2023.
