Finnish environmental measurement expert Vaisala has developed a solar-powered weather station to optimize the performance of solar power plants. It provides continuous measurements of solar radiation and various weather parameters, such as wind speeds.
The AWS810 Solar Edition PV weather station measures various solar radiation and weather parameters such as wind speed, direction, temperature, precipitation, humidity and air pressure. It is compatible with standard radiation sensors from different manufacturers.
“360-degree, always-on monitoring and analytics capabilities combined with a modular design deliver robust and scalable performance that optimizes operations at any stage of a solar plant’s lifecycle – from development, construction and commissioning to operation and lifecycle management,” said Davy Theophile, Vaisala’s head of renewable energy manager.
