India launches tenders to assign 1.8 GW of solar capacity

Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RVUNL) says it is accepting bids for 810 MW STU connected solar power projects in Bikaner, India. In a separate development, Punjab State Power Corp. has issued a selection request to purchase 1 GW of solar power from grid-connected solar power projects.

RVUNL has launched a tender to select developers for the construction of 810 MW State Transmission Unit (STU) connected solar power projects in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

The projects will be built in a 2 GW solar park being developed by RVUNL in the villages of Bikaner district. RVUNL signs 25-year power purchase agreements with selected developers. The draw ends on June 7.

In a separate development, Punjab State Power Corp. Ltd announced that it has floated a selection request to purchase 1 GW of solar power from grid-connected solar power projects located anywhere in Punjab. The minimum power of the project is 5 MW. The draw ends on July 10.
