According to the Chinese investment company, the plant has an initial capacity of 5 GW of solar cells and also produces storage systems. The project requires an investment of 11.6 billion yuan ($1.67 billion).

According to the company, the solar cell capacity of the new factory is planned to be 20 GW and the battery capacity to be 20 GW. The plant’s cell capacity is initially 5 GW and the storage system’s capacity is 6 GW

The project will require an investment of 11.6 billion yuan ($1.67 billion), the company said, without giving further details.

In February 2022, Shanghai Tianchen signed an agreement with Chinese module manufacturer Huasun. At the time, the two companies said they were looking to establish a joint venture to develop heterojunction solar modules, with Tianchen getting an 80% stake in the new company and Huasun owning the rest.

In February this year, Huasun started manufacturing panels in Anhui at its HJT solar cell factory in Xuancheng. The new factory has an annual capacity of 2.4 GW and produces exclusively bifacial 182 mm HJT cells based on cell technology with a power conversion efficiency of 25.26%.
