The German company SMA has developed a modular lithium-ion solution for commercial storage applications. There are two versions with a power of 32 kWh and 56 kWh. Both versions feature SMA Sunny Tripower Storage X battery inverters with up to 8,000 full charge cycles.
The system features Samsung SDI lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) prismatic cells. Both versions are capable of 8,000 full charge cycles, with a round-trip efficiency of up to 98%.
The German power electronics expert said the commercial storage solution has an integrated energy management system that ensures self-consumption and peak load. It added that it is preparing backup power features.
Storage 30-20 can store up to 32 kWh of energy at 100% discharge depth. Its nominal voltage is 324 V. The dimensions of the system are 608 mm x 1400 mm x 990 mm and the weight is 359 kg. It comes with a Sunny Tripower Storage X 30 inverter.
Storage 50-20 is delivered with a capacity of up to 56 kWh. Its nominal voltage is 567 V. The dimensions of the system are 608 mm x 2008 mm x 990 mm and the weight is 555 kg. It comes with a Sunny Tripower Storage X 50 inverter.
The operating temperature ranges from 0 C to 50 C. The system can be used at an altitude of up to 2,000 meters above sea level. The new batteries are IP20 rated and have a 10-year warranty.
The SMA Commercial Storage Solution is available to order now and will be delivered from the end of May 2023.
