Tata Power Solar Systems has been awarded a permit to build a 300 MW solar project as an engineering, procurement and construction contractor in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
Tata Power says its Tata Power Solar Systems unit has received approval to set up a 300 MW solar project for state-owned coal mining company NLC India in Rajasthan. The value of the project is 213.27 million dollars.
The project is located at Barsingar in Bikaner district. It is expected to produce more than 750 million units of electricity per year.
NLC India is developing the project under the CPSU system, which mandates the use of domestically produced cells and modules. Tata Power Solar Systems will take care of commissioning and provide operation and maintenance support for three years after completion. The project is scheduled to be commissioned within 18 months of signing the contract.
The total capacity of Tata Power Solar Systems is now 11.5 GWp.
