Birch Creek Energy acquires Foundation Solar Partners

Birch Creek Energy LLCSt. Louis-based renewable energy company, has bought Foundation Solar PartnersWashington DC based solar developer focused on new solar projects primarily in the MISO and PJM markets.

Birch Creek and Foundation Solar have jointly developed more than 1.7 GW of solar and storage projects since 2019, with a combined development pipeline of 13.5 GW in various stages of development.

“We are excited to add Foundation Solar’s expertise to the Birch team,” said Dan Siegel, CEO of Birch Creek. “They will add immediate value by significantly increasing our portfolio in key markets such as PJM and MISO, but the acquisition of the team brings with it a proven greenfield engine that increases our speed and scale.”


Lazard Frères and Co. LLC acted as the exclusive financial advisor to the seller, Hull Street Energy. Foley and Lardner LLP acted as legal advisors to Hull Street Energy and Nelson Mullins Riley and Scarborough LLP acted as legal advisors to Birch Creek.
