CertainTeedbuilding materials manufacturer and subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, has launched Solstice, a low-profile solar roof system.
This product allows Roofing Contractors to more simply integrate solar technology into new and existing roofing systems, both with battens and traditional panels. Ultimately, Solstice complements the home’s aesthetics and durability to ensure it lasts for years in varying seasonal conditions.
The Solstice Shingle integrates with a new or existing asphalt shingle roof and produces about as much energy as rack-mounted solar panels. The all-black solar panels have high hail impact resistance and work well in diffused light and shade, which increases energy production. A roofing contractor can also install the shingle directly with the help of an electrician, and it has a 25-year warranty.
“When we factor in rising energy costs and homeowners looking to take advantage of IRA tax credits and other incentives, solar roofing presents a huge business opportunity for roofing contractors as the demand for solar roofing continues to grow,” says Phoebe Kwan, CEO. of solar energy solutions at Saint-Gobain.
CertainTeed offers a full range of educational resources through the Credentialed Solar Installer Program, which supports the contractor community with on-site training, credentialing and productivity programs, and digital tools.
