Guzman’s energy and Sonnedix have entered into a power purchase agreement for the 110 MW Sonnedix Solar Fountain project, which is expected to be operational in early 2025.

Sonnedix develops, builds, operates and maintains the solar plant as a sponsor of the project. As a seller, Guzman Energy purchases 100% of the electricity produced by its electricity portfolio, which is used to serve the electricity loads of current and future wholesale customers of Guzman Energy.

“Sonnedix Solar Fountain is an excellent strategic fit for Guzman Energy’s power portfolio as we strive to build and purchase power generation with the right economic and environmental attributes,” said Christopher Miller, CEO of Guzman Energy. “Guzman Energy’s wholesale electricity customers expect from us affordable and stable electricity pricing, reliability and clean energy. The Sonnedix Solar Fountain fits the bill, and we’re excited to partner with Sonnedix to make it happen.

The solar project is expected to bring about 300 jobs to local workers during the construction and operation phase.

“We are excited about this opportunity to expand with Guzman Energy in Colorado – a state with experience and policies that strongly support renewable energy,” said Carlos Guinand, Sonnedix co-founder and CEO. “I am proud that this partnership paves the way for Sonnedix to advance Colorado’s goal of producing 100% green energy by 2040.”
